Buxton is a team of Pensions, Insurance and Asset Management experts who are focused on the "illiquid asset problem" faced by Pension schemes that are approaching Buyout and Insurance companies providing Buyout solutions.
Buxton is particularly focused on providing solutions for illiquid assets where it is difficult to get a broker engaged or get a bid, either because they are smaller positions within "more liquid" illiquid assets (like LP stakes in performing Private Equity strategies managed by top-tier GPs) or because they are "highly illiquid" illiquid assets (like LP stakes in underperforming Private Debt strategies managed by lower-tier GPs or complex, legacy direct investments in Corporate or Real assets)..
Working with a range of banks and investment funds, Buxton provides a bid for all of the illiquid assets in a scheme, including the "more liquid" illiquid assets, right through to the most complex, "highly illiquid" illiquid assets.
Buxton provides a complete "one stop" solution no matter how complex the illiquid asset problem is. Schemes have the ability to also get bids for the "more liquid" illiquid assets, to ensure fair value for all of the assets.
Buxton aggregates these small stakes and complex illiquid assets in a fund and then uses its specialist expertise to drive value out of those assets.
